Rd 11: St Bernards outweighed and
outplayed by Camberwell
|
Seniors: Bad Start Before Beaten in
Balwyn!
A
nightmare afternoon in Balwyn as we allowed Camberwell to skip away to
a seven goal lead in the first quarter and aside from a brief spurt in
the 3rd quarter we could not force our way back. With Camberwell stars
Bayford and Tallis running riot we were simply beaten by a better, side
on the day.
Steve
'Bocca' Mithchell tried hard in the ruck all day as did youngsters Alex
Jolley and Tom Overman. We
now face a crunch game at Marcellin next Saturday where we expect to
get a few back and look to turn things around.

Reserves: Ressies Wallop
Wellers!
The
number of Reserves players promoted to the seniors over recent weeks
has not stopped the juggernaught. The boys showed no mercy to a
struggling Camberwell outfit kicking 18.11 (119) to 3.6 (24)
Ryan
Schroder and Gary McIntyre
got a much needed run, Tommy Godsell, Simon Cave and a few others
also pressed their case for a senior spot soon.

Warriors: Heads Will Roll After First
Defeat!
A
feint roar of pain like a wounded lion was heard in the distance ...
what was that? asked Salva nursing his hammy on the bench at Balwyn ...
it was undefeated coach Paul 'the Invincible' Iannazzo, away on his
trek, news had just filtered through that his Warriors had fallen at
'the Pit'!
Heads must roll was the next cry
heard from the enraged Snaz! The aptly named James 'the Fox' Hughes
immediately pointed his spear at Captain Viddo ... "it was Viddo who
lead the hordes today, not I"
Around the campfire last night the
wounded hordes looked sheepishly at each other ... "we have a week
before Snaz returns" was the false bravado as all knew that Snaz will
surely lop heads upon his return!

Paul 'The Inivincible' Iannazzo is heading back to the Pit' ... whose
heads will roll?

Under 19 (1): Minors Mauled at Mentone!
With
a very young side the boys did ok up until half time but could not
match an older stronger St Bedes line up.
Despite the heavy loss the
boys should
start to improve over the next couple of weeks with some handy types
set to return to the fray. Our best: Andrew van
Meel, Luke Sweeney, Sam Scott, Ben Beagley, Nick Weir
and Dean Bergin.

Andrew van Meel 19 (1)s best

Under 19 (2): Pups Pipped on the Post Again!
For
the second week in a row the boys just missed a win, this time by a
lousy three points against Rup'wood.
Pat Gamwell continues to rack up
good performances, likewise Peter Mugavin and Joel Cribben. Matt
Soccio, Jarrod
Reid and as predicted pre match by this scribe Justin Monaghan were
others to shine in the nailbiter.

Pete Mugavin did well again
