Rd 10: St Bernards Crash to Carey
Seniors: Put in a shocker!
After a huge win by the Ressies it was a dismal afternoon at 'the Pit'.
Old Carey simply plugged away all day and deserved their win. Chairman
of Selectors John Potter was bitterly dissapointed in the effort ...
"It was a shocker, we could find no real winners, Tom Overman battled
hard, George Garth got on top of Rowe who hurt us early, Lossa
O'Sullivan did some good work across half back, Tate
Pearson booted three goals, but overall we were flat and did not
get our running game
going at any stage"
It was a terrible performance, every player needs to work hard on the
track this week, we must lift our
intensity and bounce back next week against Old Camberwell.
Young Kyle Dalmau made his debut after a string of good performances in
the Reserves and did ok. Kyle is pictured (right) with dad Paul who
played over 200 games with the club in the 70's and '80's.

Reserves: Ressies Crush Carey!
Thirty nine scoring shots is a lot but considering we only play 22 min
quarters in the Ressies thats a shot every 2.25 mins. Such was the
domination of our performance against Old Carey.
The boys moved the ball well and punished every Carey mistake to now
clearly
head the ladder with a percentage of 228! Tommy Godsell is starting to
show the benefit of time on the ground after missing a lot of footy
with injury last season. Others to shine included
Bryce Miziewicz, Chris Davis, Brendan Ryan, Mick O''Dea and
Andrew Maggiore.

Warriors: Hordes Keep the Rage and Run Riot
over Roys! |
|
Still furious over
the Bwyton tribes 'no show' last week the
hordes marched off to the hallowed turf of Vic Park to take their anger
out on a hapless Fitzroy Reds outfit. The Royboys hadn't slept all week
after we reported on the hordes nasty mood but to their credit they
fought
manfully against the relentless horde. In the end it
was an 80 point win with Benny 'the Lance' Loughlin, Johnny 'Horrible'
Hellard, James 'Maniac' Mount and Xavier 'Killer Carl' Cox on fire!
As the boys packed up weapons
coach Snaz 'the invincible' Iannazzo
called his men together and whispered, "Warriors ... I go now on a trek
for two weeks ... James 'the Fox' Hughes will lead you into battle
while I am gone ... make sure when I return, we remain unbeaten. I
will be back for round 13 when we march again ... TO
BRIGHTON!"

Under 19 Premier: Young Bernards blow start
but fight back! |
.
After giving Uni Blues a huge start the boys actually outsored the
opposition 8.5 v 6.3 in the second half. Our best: Nick Weir, Andrew
van Meel, Michael Angel, Ben Jones, Liam Neal and Michael
Sullivan.
Ravaged by injuries and
players up in the Seniors Matt Mulkearn's boys have had their character
tested in a very difficult season.
But the boys have shown a determination and preparedeness to perservere
and it won't be long before we snag one and with a few to come back
these kids may yet cause some havoc along the way. Keep at it boys!

Under 19 (2): Pups just pipped!
Pete van Meel's pups almost pulled off the upset of the round falling
short by a lousy 8 points in a hard fought tussle with Old Geelong
Our best: Josh Aitken, Pat Gamwell, Peter Mugavin, John Purdie, Joel
Cribbin and Josh Cunningham
