Round 7:
Seniors: Bernards Swoop and Get the Photo!
'Got out of Jail' summed up the
feelings of most onlookers. St Bernards (second on the ladder) may have
had a few out but were expected to canter in like Weekend Hustler did
over the fence in the Futurity Stakes. Problem was no one told (second
bottom) Caulfield Grammarians.
With a couple of young guns marking everything up forward and Carboni
dominating the midfield Caulfield bottled up our running game and but
for poor kicking should have held more than the two goal break they had
10 mins from the final bell.
Two goals from Tate Pearson in the last quarter kept us in the
hunt before a string of handballs released Alex Jolley into an open
goal putting Bernards in front with 4 mins remaining. A late goal from
Lossa
then sealed the
game.
Coach Madden gave great credit to Caulfield but was very dissapointed
in a number of performances. "We struggled to find
winners all day with only Chris Liberatore
and Joey
Indomenico producing four quarter efforts.
A number of blokes simply didn't perform to the required level and will
have to lift starting Tuesday on the track"
Ressies: Remain unbeaten but can improve on the run!
While the win was never in doubt the Ressies could not shake off a
persistent Caulfield. Like the Seniors a number of players flashed in
and out of the game and we fell into stop /start footy allowing our
opponents to restrict our running game.
After setting up a 32 pt lead at half time the boys produced a
lacklustre second half where we only outscored Caulfield by a solitary
point. Our best: Jesse Manunzio, AJ Mitchell, Tommy Christie and Andrew
Smith

Warriors: There can only be one!
With a full legion unavailable this week and a number Warriors
dispatched to shore up the battle in the East (Caulfield) some thought
the depleted hordes may falter. The word was the unbeaten Blacks smelt
blood!
But the call went out to some older Warriors and some fresh recruits to
help the hordes defend 'the Pit' once more.
After killing an extra
chook for good luck the hordes led by legendary warhorse Locko stormed
all over the Blacks in the second half to remain unbeaten.
Our six finest: Locko, Gary 'the Brave' Joseph, Tim "Raging' Raffle,
Liam 'the Lion' Cookson Tristan 'the Blade' McGlade and another
warhorse Nick 'the Nigerian' Mitchell. Next week the hordes march East
to mop up at Caulfield.

Coach Snaz sent rub down king old
Des onto the balcony to blow the battle horn ...
and the hordes responded to defend 'the Pit' from the Blacks!
