Slick, Quick Bernards belt Camberwell at ‘the Pit'
Seniors
After a strong pre season the young Bernards side faced an Old Camberwell line up that boasted some big names with ex AFL stars, Kent Kingsley, Rory Hilton, Rayden Tallis, Marcus Baldwin and the giant Loats. After wasting some early opportunities the boys fitness and speed overpowered the opposition to record an emphatic 89 point win.
Steve ‘Bocca' Mitchell dominated the ruck allowing Daniel ‘Shagger' Janides and Chris “Clang' Mitchell to rack up possessions in the midfield. Coach Simon Madden was pleased with the win but felt the side had a lot of improvement to make. “We caught Camberwell a little underdone, we were pleased with our run and support and general intensity but we can build a lot on that performance.

First gamers Sam Scott, Alex Jolley and Chris Spinella all aquitted themselves well in the senior's big win at ‘the Pit'
Reserves
New coaches Shane Keogh and Rocky Ianello had their first taste of VAFA footy with a get out of jail win. After looking like they would register a comfortable win the boys found themselves a single point up 5 minutes to go against a determined Camberwell charge. To their credit our blokes responded with four quick goals to take the points.

Shane Keogh and Rocky Ianello sing the song for the first time with first gamers Mick O'Dea, Jesse Manunzio, Kyle
Dalmau, Sean Bergin, and Matt Hughes all stepping up from 19's and doing well.
Warriors
With players aplenty and some boys who were stiff to miss out on the Reserves first up the Warriors travelled to Bulleen and conquered Trinty by 7 goals with evergreen veteran Jurra leading the way. Great to see former star Junior Mick Malone return to the fray after a few years off.
Under 19 Premier
After conceding a big lead early the young Bernards side fought back before going down by 4 goals to an impressive Uni Blues side.
