The club and St Bernards community were saddened to hear of the passing of Thelma Madden this week, mother of senior coach Simon, grandmother to Josh (Seniors) and Iassac (under 16s) Our sincere condolences to the Simon, Mary and the Madden family.
Our prayers and thoughts are also with the Wheeler family following the passing this week of Karen’s mother Lil, mother in law to Ian (Head Trainer), grandmother to Jack (under 16’s) and Sean (ret) Our sincere sympathies to Karen, Ian and the Wheeler family.
St Bernards Training Camp Anglesea Sat 16th / Sun 17th February
Anglesea Recreation Camp is a resort style training complex with first class amenities and facilities on the surf coast. All players must arrive at 9.30 am on Saturday for the first training session - after roll call, briefing and group allocation first activity starts at 10.00 am sharp. We will finish Sunday around 1.30pm
Senior coach Simon Madden and the new coaching panel view the camp as a part of all players commitment to the 2008 season. We must confirm numbers no later than AM Thurs 7th Feb.

The Club is subsidising the camp, players will need to cover meals cost of $80.00 (all great food) |

Bernards Footballers win 20/20 match over Bernards cricketers
After the St Bernards cricketers were a little generous in their approach to keeping the game alive the footballers snatched a one run victory in the annual 20/20 game at the pit on Aust day weekend … pictured below the footy clubs winning 12
Training numbers picking up
Over ninety players have trained in the first three sessions with a few still committed to cricket and holidays … All those that haven’t started need to get down next week and get a bit in before the pre season camp at Anglesea (15/17 Feb)
New Bernards singlets are everywhere
Under 16 young gun Jack Wheeler donned the new “pit’ singlet while training with the Melb Tigers last week …

There will be no training this Monday the 28th January. Next training will be Wednesday the 30th of January.

Our U19 player Tom Godsell, made his debut in Premier Cricket with Essendon last weekend making 12 not out in a one day game. Also Tom Madden, son of Junior Pres Paul, has just completed a fanatstic two weeks of representative cricket for the NWCA. Tom also won the WRFL U12A B & F last year so is an all round good sportsman.
