footy across half back
along with Matthew
Corso.Charlie Connelly is finally getting four quarters to-gether &
Liam Utri keeps improving each week.
Jarrod Bye who has
been down in recent weeks really showed what he can do when he puts his
mind on the job.Well done
Jarrod you are a major impact player for us.

bench this week,we will be very busy interchanging all players through
the course of the day

U14A
14A St Bernard's 6.12.48 vs. Flemington Juniors 4.4.28
The morning started well with a full team list in the change room
before the game. During our pre game preparation we did have plenty of
confidence going into the game as we all wanted to finish the season
strongly and when we stepped on the ground we were ready to play some
tough team footy.
Flemington threw
everything at us during every stage of the game. Every St Bernard’s
player remained focused and responded to the challenge and pressure to
play disciplined team football which contributed to our four quarter
effort and finished the season on a high note.
Happy faces all
round after the game following a well deserved victory. Well done to
all players on a tough but rewarding
season.
Best: Great team
effort by all 23 St Bernard’s players.
Goals: John
Iannello 3, Max Paoli 2, Tony Plazanic 1.

An early start for
the boy’s and excitement in the air for our last game of the season
playing top side Deer Park.
Our boy’s started
the game in terrific fashion in and under and playing some great
running footy. It was a close encounter right up to mid way through the
third quarter where the bigger opposition from Deer Park took
over and and they showed why they are the top team.To the boy’s credit
they continued to play with great determination and never gave in
regardless of the score board one of the great trait’s of our under 12B
boy’s.We had some good players on the day Charlie Vague was one of our
best players playing his usual hard ball get game running out of
the centre and kicking long and dishing out some good handballs to team
mates. Nick Cammeron was terrific all day with some great running,Tommy
Dore was again terrific credited with the best two tackle’s of the
day. When you see the smallest player tackle an opposition player 6’ 3”
and around 90kg’s yep that’s how big he was and get rewarded with a
free kick was sensational, good on you Tommy! Benny Ronke was a good
contributor as were Will Baird,Joel, Nick K Christian for his best game
and all the other boy’s in the Team.
We celebrated the
end of season together at McDonalds with all the parents, and all had a
great time. This celebration continued on at happy hour with most of the
boy’s fronting up for an award.I must congratulate our 2 Captains on
Sunday Ben and Nick C who were voted by their team mates to be captains
on the final day.The boy’s prepared well for their responsibility and
addressed the players before the game and then again spoke at the happy
hour presentation,well done boy’s.
On a personal note
I announced I would not be continuing as coach, and would like to see a
more current player or retired player to take the boy’s forward from
next year.Who ever take’s this group forward will have a terrific group
of boy’s to work with backed up by a terrific parent group and help
from my two assistant coach’s Rob and Jamie.I have had a very
satisfying and rewarding experience over the past three years and hope
I leave a solid foundation not just in footy development but social and
team skills to all the boy’s.I look forward in spending more one on one
time with my grandson Charlie( who I am very proud of) and follow his
and other boy’s progression in their footy development.A big thanks to
all the parents who have helped at training and match day’s especially
Robert ,Jamie, Con,Tony C.and Nick Hughes.A special thanks to my
daughter Sarah for doing a great job with the boy’s and parents in her
role as Team Manager.
I wish the club
and all players the best for the future.
Thank You .

We finished the home and away season with 10 wins and 5 loses and
sitting 3rd on the ladder, and now they play finals footy. What more
can these boys do?It would be true to say everyone in the team played a
part in the win. From the very start of the game the boys stuck to the
game plan and played attacking football. The boys played on at every
opportunity which kept Parkside defending for the majority of the game.
Our back line players were great in repelling many attacks especially
in the third quarter, our midfield just kept on running and our forward
line brought it home. Again great TEAMWORK!!! The way we shared the
ball by hand in particular, releasing players into space to run and
carry, was excellent. Well done boys! There were too many great
passages of play during the game, but most important it was a great
team effort!!!Standout: I need to mention our smaller brigade of
players, James Kenny, Bailey Packham, Jack Stephens, Daniel Vella,
Kristian Guarino, Daniel Morabitto Thomas Grech, Connor Denahy and Luke
Attard, finally we met an opposition team that was probably slightly
taller or the same size as us…give or take a few inches. These boys
were in everything they displayed their skills and grew in confidence
as the game went on. Great game boys! Again congratulations to
all the boys U12D’s, they really worked hard to get to where they are
and totally deserve to be playing finals. So let’s enjoy the next few
weeks! We will be playing in the qualifying finals next week against
Williamstown Juniors. Venue and time to be confirmed! We have a special
training session so all players are required to be at training next
week!Injury update: Ambroise Attard (hand) Michael Diamandis…I better
take out private health insurance (eye) Michael Smith (chest) Bailey
Packham (knee)Captains: Connor Denahy and Tom Monaghan another great
captain’s game by both boys.
