A good honest effort against a well drilled Point Cook.
Never underestimate the opposition or their standing on the ladder, they can always take you by surprise, as was the case in this match.
Silky Jilla was our most consistent all day, as were our ruck duo-Batman & Robin, they just keep on keeping on.
Liam McIntyre ran into a bit of form on the wing & Pushbike De Leur was again consistent at half forward. Zaron Smith keeps persevering on his left side-Well Done!. Next week be at Willi at 1pm for a 2.05 start.

U14A  St Bernard’s  9.21.75 def Yarraville Seddon 5.3.33
We scored early in the first quarter with the wind which was the start we were after. We controlled the majority of the game, although we did not make the best of our opportunities in shooting for goal. When kicking for goal our aim must be to kick the goal, not just have a casual attempt. This is the part of our game we need to improve on.
Our desire to play as a team, together with our hard work ethic over 4 quarters was our strength. Considering the conditions the win was a good performance with every player giving their best. Players enjoyed their foreign positions this week which proved to be a good experience for everyone. We need to continue working hard at training to improve on our ball handling and disposal skills as we will be tested over the next few weeks.
A special thanks to Edward Williams and Jack Evans for answering the call for two players from the 14C’s to step up this week to give us a starting 18. Both Edward and Jack fitted back in well and helped the team generate goals. Thanks to the parents that carried out official tasks and families that came along to provide support for the team.
We look forward to this weeks challenge at home vs. Point Cook. All players to be on time this Sunday (1 hour before the game), to allow for our best preparation possible in what will be an important game for us. Let’s continue to enjoy our footy.
Best: Taylor Bisognano, Connor Morgan, Jack Holland, Tony Plazanic, Mathew Dickson, Killian Cashin, Liam Whelan, Nic Monarca, Alex Turner, Seamus Whelan. Well done to all players on a good four quarter effort.
Goals:  John Iannello 3, Killian Cashin , Jack Evans , Connor Morgan , Tony Plazanic , James Riley & Alex Turner.

Who knew it would be a cold windy day at the footy when we accepted the challenge to a grudge match. Avondale Heights in the EDFL found out we were to have a bye this week and as they were rostered for a bye, they threw us a challenge. The boys were keen for an opportunity to atone for last week’s effort and keenly accepted the offer. Most parents were regretting the boys’ keenness as they shivered in the biting wind. We had our best turn up to training on Friday but not for the game as we played with only 17. Boys, we need a better effort to get to training!!
The good numbers at training translated to a good team effort as the score line indicates. A little slow to start, we managed 2 goals 8 in the first quarter with the wind. Damo
implored the boys at the first bre
ak to lift their tackling and get into the game. From there on we played the game as it should be played. Jack G had his best game of the season and had the ball on a string, but that’s what happens when you run to every contest you can. Edyn ably stepped up into the shoes of Marcus who missed through injury. Marky was a sensation when Damo threw him into the ruck and he pumped the ball our way at every stoppage. We welcomed Nick O’Bree back into the fray after an absence and it looked like he enjoyed getting back into the footy, even taking a one handed mark. It must have inspired his brother, as Chris O also played his best game of the season. Michael C looks so composed as he runs and bounces across the ground and Dom, we loved your dummy around the man on the mark. Brent Harvey in the making.
Boys, maintain your confidence and let’s finish the season with another win or two.

U12D St Bernard’s vs. Sunshine Heights
The boys played Sunshine Heights today, who unfortunately did not have enough kids to field a team. To get the kids on the ground, we played a scratch match, with some of our boys playing for the opposition. Congratulations to Conner for his first game today and Ben for his first game back after injury, both playing a great game. Thanks to the following boys who played for Sunshine, Ambroise, Chris, Joseph T, Michael D. Tom N, Tom M, Matt B & Liam C.
The boys made it a fun game with lots of laughs and enjoyment, from the opposition, our boys and even the umpire. It was a credit to the parents and boys for still wanting to get on the ground and play football. Some good passages of play were also noticed. Well done Luke A, Daniel M, James K for holding position in the backline. Joseph P, Michael S, Luke C-W (2 goals), Daniel V, Liam G and Tom G all attacked the ball strongly and kept the ball moving through the centre and in the forward
line, giving many scoring opportunities.
Great Captain's game from both Kristian & Alex.
Well done to all.
Just a reminder to all spectators, the game is about the kids getting out and having fun. Comments about the boys when things don't go right on the field can be and are hurtful to the boys and also the team spirit.
We must remember our Code of Conduct. HAVING FUN.

U10 Red St Bernard's 12-15-87defeated St Albans 3-4-22
Goal Kickers Henry J 4, Julian V 2, Aidan B 2, Will Mc 1, Luke B 1, James B 1, Ash U 1
Captain for the day Nick D Vice Capt Will Mc
Cold and very windy conditions greated us at the St Albans ground. Nick D won the toss and we had first use of the wind. We were able to put on 5 goals to nil, Henry J was very clever at half forward and his 3 first quarter goals were all Special! Ace Julian Venturo presented well up forward, marked, and slotted a great goal, Will Mc marked in the pocket and thought his way through his kick using the wind to slot a fantastic goal, Charles B , was like a rock in defence, and sent us going forward.
The second quarter was going to be tough, and this was probably our best quarter for the match. Our mossiquito fleet led by Luke B, Henry J, Ryan S, Luke H, and Nicky D, ran and carried the ball really well that set up 3 goals into the wind. Julian V, Luke B, and Henry all converted goals from hard running and team play.
The third quarter saw us kick 2 goals and 8 points, players who stood out were Dylan G on a wing, James B used his strenghth to kick a ripper goal, and Aidan Birch showed a touch of class to run take a bounce and kick a great goal. Jack T is getting better each week and killed them in the ruck, Ash U went in the middle and gave us a real spark.
The last quarter was another great effort running into a gale, we put on another 2 goals through Aidan B, and Ash U, to record an excellent win. Other highlight's and improvement is coming from Luke D who is starting to know his team mates.          Some great marks and timely work in the packs. Tom Mc, I reckon, kicked a goal judged as touched by the umpire, keep at it Tom. Luke H has really picked it up the last 2 weeks playing in a number of different positions.
Next week we have Williamstown at home-a Huge game for us.
See you at training on Friday let me know if you cannot make it my mobile is 0401 139 401
cheers

U9 Red St Bernard’s vs Yarraville
On a cold windy morning we started off very slowly due to too many players fighting for the ball. Both teams scored 2 goals. The second quarter had our backline under tremendous pressure due to the strong wind. But General Will Riley and Captain Luke Crieghton created a wall in defence that saved many turnovers. Matty D was in under the packs as were Christian and Angus. Jake and Kyle (great goal from the boundary) were driving tha ball forward with long kicking resulting in great team goals. Joseph Genoese reminding me of the "galloping gasometer" with his running game. Great goals by Zac, Patrick and Kyle. Great crumbing by Jospeh T, and Joey. The last quarter had us once again under pressure but the boys had listened to instructions and kept the backline tight and ran the ball really well to keep it in our forward line. Great effort by the mummified Ben. Keep up the good work boys!

U9 White St Bernard’s V's Werribee Centrals.
Captain:        Bradley
Goals:          Liam, Ryan & Marcus.
Best:            Anthony, Myles, Dominic, Marcus, Liam, Ryan, Lachlan S, Joshua & Jordan.

Cold, windy and a depleted side sums up Sunday's game.  The highlight of the day was seeing the JAMES brothers, Liam and Ryan both get goals.  On a day where goals were hard to come by it was good to see the boys put in an extra effort to get the ball forward against the wind.  A three or four goal breeze in under 9's at Werribee is like battling against a hurricane.  Bradley led early and showed the boys what captaincy is all about.  Fabian put in great effort for the first 2 quarters and with Connor on the opposite wing gave plenty of run.  Oliver must have been at the recovery session with Daniel Kerr because we didn't see him till half time and when he started to play, gave the team plenty of sting.  Dominic played his best game all season with plenty of marks and kicks, and was even prepared to tackle kids when the ball was at the other end of the ground.  Joshua, Jordan and Lachlan S did well in the 1st quarter across half back stemming the flow into their forward line.  Nick V did what he does best and that is run and run, getting into position and laying some amazing tackles.  Anthony also played his best game by far and was unlucky not to snag a couple of goals.  The other two brothers in the team Stephen and Grant tried hard all day and gave it their best, well done boys.  Nathan, Darcy and Daniel were great when playing forward and set up the wall keeping the ball forward.  Myles showed he was a team player running down from the back line to help out in the forward line closely followed by Marcus.  The two talls Nick D and Lachlan G played well all day giving the boys someone to kick to.  I'm praying for no more windy days.
well done boys.  Enjoy your footy.
