St Bernards easily accounted for Old Haileybury in their 2nd
encounter … a few other legends’ names
appeared…
Collins – David Collins had already become the college student selected
to represent St Bernards at 1st XVIII level in season 1964 –
present day players with that distinction are Chris Mitchell (1999) and
Andrew Maggiore (2000)
Perrett – Michael Perrett who in earlier round had become the first
senior player at St Bernards to reach 50 games. Records show Michael
completed the the same feat in 100 / 150 / 200games
Reidy, Hancox, are a few others and with Taylor – John Taylor who holds
the distinct club recored of being the first player to be suspended.
Reserves also had a few names well remembered – Denahy, Buckley,
Sanders, Griffiths – Geoff Griffiths who we hope will be able to return
to the club as part of our Veterans Challenge Match.
