Women's Football Rising Star

26 June 2013

While we have a lot of good young talent at the snakepit one player is headed straight to the mighty MCG.

Nicola Stevens is usually seen at the club as the very dedicated and hard working u/19 North trainer. However Nicola is also a football "rising star". Nicola plays in the melb uni womens team and has been invited to train in the Vic Academy squad and play in the nationals in Cairns in july. As a speedy and skilful half back flank Nicola also nominated for the AFL's first "womens draft". From 250 players nominated Nicola was selected to play for the Western Bulldogs Womens team on june 29th at the home of football the MCG. Nicola will run out for the game of her life as a curtain raiser to the Bulldogs v Demons that day.
The club would like to thank Nicola for her hard work at the club and wish her good luck for a great game at the MCG, and all the very best for the Vics at the national in Cairns.
Its good to know we have yet another "rising star" in the st bernards club community.
