Two Club Favourites Chalk Up Milestones

10 August 2017

We salute two club favourites George Garth and Tom Isaacs on reaching significant Milestones this weekend.

George Garth 250Games

In St Bernards proud history only six players have played 250 VAFA games that include over 100 at senior level. Best wishes to Brenton ‘George’ Garth who will join that illustrious group this Saturday.

A St Bernards Junior, George played in our 2002 & 2003 U19 Premiership sides. In 2004 George won the U19 Premier B&F, made his senior debut against Old Xavs and played in our Seniors finals campaign.

Over the next decade George regularly took on the VAFA’s best midfielders where his ‘hard at it’ approach earned the respect of team-mates and opponents alike. More recently George continues to perform strongly in the Ressies and provide leadership to our younger players.

Long time team mate Josh Madden says “George’s, on field presence and passion for Bernards (along with his Footy Trip organising skills) have made him one of our great clubman”. Good luck George on the big 250!

Tom Isaacs 150 Games

Best wishes to popular clubman Tom Isaacs who will line up for his 150he game this week.

Another product of St Bernards Junior program Tom progressed through Under 19s ranks before moving into open age footy in 2008 mixing Reserves, Thirds and Club 18 footy along the way.

A hard running and hard tackling wingman /half back Tom was a key player in our ‘08 Club 18 (Warriors) premiership team and in recent seasons Tom continues to be an integral part of our Thirds side.

Off field Tom has been another great servant and is a credit to our footy club. It’s blokes like Tom who are critical to the fabric of our footy club.

All at ‘the pit’ salute Tom on his 150th game and look forward to seeing him add many more.

Well done Tommy!
