Turtle 100 games

07 August 2012

Congrats to popular ruckman Liam ‘Turtle’ Wilkinson who plays his 100th game against De La Salle this Saturday.

Liam started in the Under 19's in 2000 before making his senior debut against Old Xavs in round two of the 2002 season. The big, mobile and strong marking ruckmen played a key role in the club’s 2002 A Grade Premiership before injury restricted his 2003 season. Returning late in the year to play in the A Reserves Premiership Liam went on to ruck in the 2004 losing A Grade Grand Final.

Named Senior vice-captain in 2005 and in 2006 Liam was rewarded with a Big V jumper. Turtle spent a few years away from the club before returning to the ‘snakepit’ this year where he has again led the ruck brigade.

Liam’s leadership qualities, along with his professional attitude to his footy is setting a great standard for his young team-mates.

All at Bernards look forward to big Turtle adding many more games to his 100 .. well done ‘Turtle’
