Tom Sullivan wins back to back B&F

29 September 2014

At the Club's Presentation Evening over 200 players, members, supporters, families and sponsors gathered to celebrate the Club's 51st Presentation Night.

The salubrious Gatsby Room at Roslyn Court Receptions looked a treat decked out in club colours. A tremendous response from club people saw the event sell out over a week ago, making for a great atmosphere, for a night at which the club celebrated a very strong overall 2014 season.

Last years winner Tom Sullivan and vice captain Adam Bentick had tied for 2nd in the VAFA League B&F, so expectations were for a very close club count. And so it was with both players featuring in the votes on a regular basis. Votes are awarded 5,4,3,2,1 (5 = best) by three people, Coach Anthony Rock, Football Director Craig Connelly and Life Member and football dept member Terry Davis.
In a neck and neck struggle all nite Tom and Adam were separated by just two votes at 108 v 110 with the final game to be voted. In a strong showing in the clubs prelim final it was Tom Sullivan taking out his second consecutive Best & Fairest Award by just three votes. Pictured are Tom and Adam with third placed Nathan Kazuro. Across 6 senior clubs teams, including flag winning U19 Premier Division Team, some 65 awards in all were presented to enthusiastic applause and congratulations. The announcement also of Anthony Rock to carry on as the Season 2015 Club Coach was greeted with great enthusiasm, and as the coach says we have unfinished business to pursue in 2015.
This first class evening & event was enjoyed by a wide cross section of the club, and we would like to give special thanks to our "B&F Event Team" for both a social and logistical success. James DelZoppo, Terry Bentick, Michelle Denahy, Paul Garth, Luke Baird and Justin Evans, well played team.

Congratulations to Tom, Adam and all the 2014 awards winners on their well deserved recognition, and the clubs future looks bright given the considerable talent that is emerging from the under 19 program and the thirds and seconds development teams.
