Tom Caven takes out Best & Fairest

24 September 2012

Tom Caven has been named Senior Best & Fairest for 2012. It is Tom's second Senior B&F following his win in 2008 and follows a stellar season for the St Bernards key backman.

Football Operations Manager Paul Garth said "Tom has been a great player for St Bernards since he came into the senior side as an 18 year old, after a couple of injury interrupted seasons Tom had a strong preseason and he not only managed to outpoint most of the competitions best forwards, he consistently provided the launching pad from defence"

Tom was a clear winner polling 29 votes with Nic Cooke Runner Up on 22 votes and Alex Singleton third on 20 votes

All the trophy winners were announced at the clubs Presentation Day on Sunday with a particular highlight being Jack Saundry winning the inaugural Harry Overman Medal
The new medal for the club's Under 19 Best & Fairest winner has been struck in honour of young Harry Overman who passed away tragically in August.
