Womens Network sparkles Friday Night

The preparations were big, the attendance was big (230), the raffle and auction list was big, and what a great big night it turned out to be !!

The Committee is delighted with the support and engagement of the ladies through the "St BernardsFC - Womens Network". The Womens Committee lead by Angela McGuire and her merry band of volunteers truly did yet another first class job on a five star event.

The following is a message from Angela wrapping up the event last friday nite

"And what a night it was !!".  So thankful for all the positive feedback received from so many guests to all members of the committee.  An excerpt from a lovely email received today:

I just wanted to say thank you to you and the Committee for organising the Mother’s Day Dinner on Friday night. I attended the lunch two years ago and I think moving it to a dinner was a great idea. Arranging the shuttle bus was also fantastic, such an easy option for so many women to get home.

Your words about the spirituality of the football club and the women's network really resonated with me, and I have thought about them a lot since last week. Being involved in and contributing to community events such as these are important to me……. I am very aware of the impact of the school and the club in our local community. I hope Friday night raised a lot of money for the club to continue the work it does, on and off the sporting field, as it has a multiplier effect in the wider community in which we live here in the Essendon area. This is of benefit to us all.

This really makes all the preparation well worth the effort.  The club has benefited not only from much needed funds to support these young men, but the positivity and energy everyone left with is of massive benefit to our community.

What about Claire Tennant winning the 4 return tickets to Hawaii!!!!  The room totally erupted with screams and applause.  A very deserving lucky winner.  And many other winners left with raffle prizes, lucky door prizes and silent auction items, gift bags, so something for everyone really.

Whilst the network continues to grow and is robust in terms of its members, structure and framework, I feel this is the time to step aside and hand the baton of Chairperson to someone else and assist and guide them through transition into next season.  If you would like to partner with me on this journey please send me an email for further discussion.

Many thanks to everyone.

Warm regards
