Mid Season Update

11 June 2015

The Committee felt a club update is timely, given this Saturday marks the halfway point in another exciting season at St Bernard’s FC.

Firstly we would very much like to thank all our members, life members, players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, family , friends and importantly sponsors ; for the tremendous contribution you all continue to make to the club. St Bernard’s FC continues to grow and become stronger, due to many different sections of the club and wider community, coming together in an enjoyable and safe sporting and social environment.

Our on field performance continues to be solid and competitive, with 3 of our 6 senior club teams top three, and the remaining three teams in striking distance of top four. In the Junior Club the focus remains on providing a fun and welcoming environment for players of all standards and their families to enjoy. At the same time all junior teams are very competitive, and players are improving their skills and their on and off field teamwork.

To support all these playing endeavors, many vibrant and enjoyable social events have already been staged. Highlights have included a trio of home lunches : Anzac Day, Mothers & Ladies Day and Junior Sponsors Day, plus a side splitting Junior Comedy Night and some very relaxing Junior Club, Sunday Afternoon Post Games.

The Social Calendar for the remainder of the year (as below) truly offers something for everyone, and we encourage you all to join us for one, or more or all !! of these high quality events. We can assure a very welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, where you can mingle with old friends and make new friends.

It’s important to know your support is not only very valuable, but goes well beyond any single dollar you may contribute. A recent in depth university backed study, showed that for every $1 that goes into a community sporting club, a $4 benefit flows back to the local community.

So in a very busy world of stresses, strains, demands and pressures, you can always call time out, get along to St Bernard’s FC enjoy yourself and know you are making a very valuable and positive contribution to your community, because you are literally backing a 4 to 1 community winner !!

So we again thank you all for your support, and encourage you to join us in the second half of 2015 for more exciting games, lunches and special events.
