President, John Hughes, commented, "Robert's appointment demonstrates our commitment to deepen the quality and resource base of our coaching stocks and to provide St. Bernard's footballers with access to the best coaching available in the VAFA ranks. Robert's unique experience as a coach, an educator (school principal) and as Football Director at St. Mary's Junior Football Club for the last 3 years, will be of great benefit to both our football program and the College

Robert will commence his new position in October 2011 as part of preseason planning for 2012. In the meantime, the club remains 100% focused on our current finals campaigns.

We wish Chris Tankard, Nick Smith and the senior team well in this week's Prelim final against St Kevins. Best wishes also to James Mount and his team in their Prelim final against Old Ivanhoe and to Damien Sullivan, Ray King and our U19 side in their Grand Final against Werribee. Commiserations to Michael Bevanda and his boys on their loss yesterday in the U17 Grand Final but congrats on a great effort from Mick and the team during 2011.

Go Bernard's!
