Diamond Dogs Launch

19 March 2015

The clubs coterie group the "Diamond Dogs" is entering its fifth year/season. This Vinnie McGuire chaired group of 40 local businessmen, provide valuable support to the club.

This assistance comes in four key ways, all of which make the club stronger as its grows and competes at the highest level of the VAFA.

(1) Provision of funds through their Diamond Dog Membership subs
(2) As a key part of the clubs jobs network, sourcing career opportunities for our young playing group
(3) As consultants and ideas generators on key club issues and projects
(4) Many Diamond Dogs are also company sponsors of the club, and also volunteer in various roles at the club.
This week the Diamond Dogs held their season launch function at Eureka Tower, which is one of three annual events they gather for. Foxtel commentator and former footballer Mathew Campbell was MC for the night, Vinnie McGuire updated Coterie memebrs on the clubs off field activiites, while football director Craig Connelly talked specifically about the growth and development of the playing list.

The group was then entertained by champion footballer, cricketer, media personality and racehorse owner/syndicator Simon O'Donnell. (pictured) . All those that attended including a table of senior players, thoroughly enjoyed Simons stories of past glories and of his current endeavours.
Our upcoming Legends Day on April 18th, which includes a raffle for two return flights to New York, was also promoted on the night. There was a very positive mood in the room and some of the past players attending were even thinking of dusting off their old boots, for a run in the Legends game. As a precaution we have placed club sponsor PhysioHealth on standby !!

On a serious note the club would like to thank all those involved in the Diamond Dogs for their generous ongoing support, and if you or someone you know is interested in becoming part of this very positive local business networking group, please contact the DD's Chairman Vinnie McGuire on 0413 583 901.
