Club Patron

26 November 2013

The football club is proud to announce the creation of a new role, that of CLUB PATRON.

This perpetual role is ambassadorial in nature, encompassing promotion of the club at games, luncheons and special events and within the St Bernard’s and wider community.

It is with great pleasure that on behalf of the club, the Committee can announce our CLUB PATRON for 2014 and beyond is Mr Michael Perrett.

As a founding player in the clubs first match in 1963, Michael proudly carried no7 into over 200 games and multiple premierships. A highlight for the Perrett family was father Michael being able to hand the no7 to his son Steven for his senior debut game.

After a distinguished playing career Michael moved into club administration, including a record 14 years as President covering a number of premierships. Of course his involvement at St Bernard’s extended well beyond the football club through his work at the school and he was rightfully honoured with a Testimonial Dinner this month.

As the club moves from its historic 50th year in 2013 into an exciting 2014 and beyond we are delighted that Michaels involvement in the club can be recognised in this very positive way.

We look forward to our CLUB PATRON Michael continuing to be a great contributor to the community and ambassador for the club, for many enjoyable years to come. Congratulations Michael on this very well deserved recognition and honour.  The Committee on behalf of the SBOCFC.
