Anthony Rock steps down as Senior Coach

01 October 2015

The club announces today that Anthony Rock is stepping down as coach of St Bernard’s FC, to move to a new role as an assistant coach at an AFL club.

While we would have liked Anthony to stay, we understand what a well deserved and exciting new step this is in his coaching career.

In his last five years coaching at community club level his record has been outstanding. Including the last two years with St Bernards, Anthony has coached teams to two preliminary finals and three premierships. We thank Anthony very much for his very dedicated, professional and hard working approach at St Bernards FC, and wish him all the very best in his new role at AFL level.

As we did when we secured Anthony as coach, the club will form a selection panel and go through a detailed process, to secure the best coach possible for the club in 2016 and beyond.

We feel that seeing players and coaches from our club going to higher levels, is evidence of the quality and strength of our football program and our club overall, which bodes well for the future.

We look forward to securing a top class coach, to build on the success of this year and the very focused football development program, that’s operating at all levels of the club.
