Bernard's Players in VAFA Victorian Squads

03 July 2013

Matt Peart and Adam Bentick are training with VAFA Victorian squads this week.

St. Bernard’s Victorian Squad Members – U19 & Senior Squads

Congratulations to senior club co-captain Adam Bentick and U19 Premier player, Matthew Peart, both of whom are training this week with the Senior and U19 VAFA Victorian squads.

Adam’s inclusion in the senior squad reflects his strong season thus far, as the leading member of the club’s midfield.   Matt Peart has come back to football this year after suffering a badly broken leg in the middle of the 2012 season for U19 Premier, and has been showing great versatility in a number of roles he has played for U19 Premier Coach, Rocky Iannello.

As Rocky said last night at training, “Matthew has developed his all round game so much this year that we have had the confidence in playing him deep back, as a small crumbing forward or at times through the midfield. He is a very balanced and courageous player who is able to adapt quickly and makes good decisions with ball in hand under pressure. His improvement has been encouraging this year and inclusion in the State squad is just reward for the time and effort he has spent getting back to full fitness”.

We wish Adam and Matthew well in final squad selections.
