Caven and Overman don the Big V

Tom Caven and Tom Overman - selected in the VAFA senior State team

Congratulations to Tom Caven and Tom Overman named in the final 22 in the VAFA rep team going to Brisbane to wear the big V.  Tom Caven to continue his great work as state fullback, while it's an excellent example of perserverance and hard work by Tom Overman coming back from a major knee reco in 2012.  Tom now firing on all cyclinders, has again become a leading player in the bernards seniors and getting the call up to VAFA rep duties, is certainly a good news football story.  Good luck to the two Toms, both outstanding representatives of St Bernardsfc.

The final squad contains players from both Premier and Premier B with 9 clubs represented in total. There are 12 players in the 22 that took on the EFL in the pre-season AFL Victoria Metro Championships. David Lepair will be representing the VAFA as the field umpire.

Three players will make their debut including Uni Blacks recruit, Tyson Kruse, who, had he still been based in Queensland could have been playing for the QAFL side. Kruse though was relishing the chance to take on his mates on Sunday.

You can watch the senior representative match against AFL Queensland on Sunday 8 June at 2.00pm through vafatv.com.
