Alex Singleton to chalk up 150th VAFA game

20 July 2014

Popular midfielder Alex Singleton will line up for his 150th VAFA game this Saturday against Old Xavs

Another product of St Bernards junior program Alex progressed through under 19 football before making his senior debut in 2009 and has been a permanent fixture in the senior line up ever since.

Along the way Alex has collected VAFA representative honours and was Runner Up in our senior B&F in 2011. A hard running wingman /midfielder Singa’s raking left foot has provided plenty of highlights for the St Bernards faithful.

Football Operations Manager Paul Garth paid tribute to Alex this week, “Not many people would realise that Alex’s consistency and resilience has been remarkable, he has only missed one game in six seasons playing 104 of a possible 105 games from ’09 to round 12 this season and has finished top six in every senior vote count in that time”

“Alex has not only been a terrific player, he’s a great clubman and a super bloke. “There’s nothing better than seeing ‘Singa’ streaming down ‘the pit’ booting a goal and giving the ‘Singa Pump’ and we look forward to many more highlights into the remainder of this season and beyond.

All at St Bernards salute Alex on his 150th .. well done ‘Singa’
