Simon Atkins – Appointed as Development Coach

Simon to focus on developing our players and coaches

St. Bernard’s Football Club is pleased to announce that Simon Atkins has been appointed Development Coach for the 2013/14 season.  In addition, Simon will again coach the school first XVIII football team.

Simon has asked to focus his efforts with the club on skills development, which is the role Simon originally joined St. Bernard’s to develop back in season 2012.  The football club has happily agreed, and in consultation with new senior coach Anthony Rock, Simon’s focus in season 2013/14 will be:

·         Skills Development support for the senior playing group – as required by the Senior Coach

·         Skills development coaching of select 2nds/3rds players (mainly our growing array of 1st and 2nd year senior players) in conjunction with appointed 2nds/3rds coaches

·         Skills development coaching of the U19 Premier playing group in conjunction with the U19 Premier coach

·         “Coach the coaches” seminars for the senior and “unders” coaches to ensure the senior game style, game plan and key elements of Anthony Rock’s set up are understood and implemented by all coaches of all teams

Simon has been a fantastic contributor around the football club the past two seasons and we look forward to Simon continuing to assist the playing group and the coaching staff develop as footballers, coaches and members of the St. Bernard’s community.
