Congratulations Adam Bentick - 2013 VAFA tour to Ireland

19 August 2013

St Bernard’s OCFC would like to congratulate co-skipper Adam Bentick on his selection to the VAFA representative squad which will be touring Ireland in October.

The squad is made up of 22 players across 19 clubs and 5 sections in the VAFA and they will play four matches as part of the tour. These matches will comprise of three clashes against local Irish clubs, with the final match to be played against the All Ireland team.

The final match against the All Ireland side is especially significant as it will act as a warm-up match for the Irish in the lead up to their clash against the AFL's Indigenous All Stars.

Adam's selection is made all the more significant as he has been chosen as joint vice captain of the squad. This is a magnificent honor and it acknowledges his strong form and leadership alongside Tom Caven in his role as Co-Captain of St. Bernard’s in season 2013.

Adam will share the VC duties with Uni Blacks player Bede Mahon and both will support captain Ross Young, who has had a magnificent season for Uni Blues.

The team will depart on Monday 30th September, will play their matches in Cork, Galway, Caven and Dublin, before departing for home on Monday 14th October.
